Percent crude protein (CP), percent fat and kJ g<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup> of GE in the fish samples were predicted with standard error of the estimate (SEE) of 1.8, 1.4 and 1.7 respectively. The SEE values for the prediction of CP, percent fat and kJ g<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup> of GE in chicken carcasses were 1.7, 2 and 0.54 respectively.
