X-Ray and Mößbauer investigations show that under higher pressures FeCr<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> is not stoichiometric but contains Fe(III), and that corund type Cr<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> as an additional phase has been formed.
