The structural features are similar to those in the cubic phase. Correspondingly CH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>COOH·H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O can be trapped in cage like cavities, formed by the 3-dimensional framework o f M<jats:sup>2+</jats:sup> and C<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>O<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> <jats:sup>2-</jats:sup> . The metal ions are coordinated in a distorted octahedral fashion.
