The structure model was revised. Siloxene is a subsiliceous acid [Si<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>]H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>(OH)<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> and consists of two-dimensional corrugated Si-layers with three Si-Si bonds per silicon and an OH-or H-ligand, respectively. Ordering of adjacent layers is turbostratic. The layer lattice is capable of forming intercalation complexes. On intercalation only the layer distance is changed. </jats:p> <jats:p>The alkoxylated derivatives Si<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>(OCH<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>3n</jats:sub> and Si<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>(OC<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>5</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>3n</jats:sub> are also able to intercalate polar molecules.</jats:p> The Topochemical Reaction of CaSi<sub>2</sub> to a Two-Dimensional Subsiliceous Acid Si<sub>6</sub>H<sub>3</sub>(OH)<sub>3</sub> ( = Kautskys’ Siloxene) Zeitschrift für Naturforschung B |
