Highlights the addictive appeal and tensions in e‐mail usage.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type="abstract-heading">Research limitations/implications</jats:title><jats:p>Raising awareness and pointing to issues regarding the commonly experienced advantages and disadvantages of the electronic business age.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type="abstract-heading">Originality/value</jats:title><jats:p>Opens up the dysfunctional personal and working consequences of e‐mail communications in the world of work.</jats:p></jats:sec> E‐mail infatuation Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal
