Data collected from 63 organizations spanning government, education, and private enterprise are analyzed to determine the importance of these items at present and within the next 5 years. The findings are compared with predictions made for technologically developed nations, findings from a previous study in Myanmar, and studies in other developing nations (Thailand and Vietnam). Overall, Myanmar is shown to be at an early stage of development with emphases mainly on the use of ICT for day‐to‐day operational activities. The findings contribute to filling the void of information available about ICT development in Myanmar and are highly relevant to interested organizations in the public and private sectors that are internal or external to Myanmar.
An investigation of ICT development in Myanmar THE ELECTRONIC JOURNAL OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES
