The 5‐(azidomethyl)benzene‐1,3‐dicarbonyl unit was chosen as the scaffold as this unit allows two identical units and a reactive end to be incorporated, thus generating a dendron suitable for dendrimer synthesis. The design and synthesis of dendrimers with multi‐tier architectures will be useful for generating dendritic structures with various functions.(© Wiley‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
