The effects of catalyst loading, CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> pressure, reaction temperature and time on catalytic activity were investigated. ZnEtPpBr<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) and CoEtPpBr<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> (<jats:bold>2</jats:bold>) exhibited efficient activities in the cycloaddition reactions of various epoxides with CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> as at 120 °C under 2 MPa of CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> pressure without solvent.
