An expression for a true maximum specific growth rate is proposed (μ<jats:sub>max<jats:italic>w</jats:italic></jats:sub> = μ<jats:sub>max</jats:sub> + <jats:italic>mY</jats:italic><jats:sub>max</jats:sub>) and it could be shown that despite different values for μ<jats:sub>max</jats:sub> the values for μ<jats:sub>max<jats:italic>w</jats:italic></jats:sub> correspond fairly well.</jats:p> Zur Bedeutung der wahren maximalen spezifischen Wachstumsrate Acta Biotechnologica
