Serafin, M. 0044-2313 1521-3749 Wiley Inorganic Chemistry http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/zaac.19966221118 <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Single crystals of caesium iron hydrogen phosphate, Cs<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>Fe<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>15</jats:sub>(PO<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>9</jats:sub>, <jats:bold>2</jats:bold>, were prepared hydrothermally by heating caesium iron dihydrogenphosphate, CsFe(H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>PO<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>, <jats:bold>1</jats:bold>, with a small amount of water. <jats:bold>2</jats:bold> crystallizes orthorhombic, space group Pna2<jats:sub>1</jats:sub> (No. 33 Int. Tab.) with Z = 4 and a = 2718(1), b = 908.1(3), c = 1280.8(4) pm.</jats:p><jats:p>The crystal structure was solved by using 4734 unique reflections I > 2σ(I) with a final wR2 value of 0.0801 (SHELXL‐93).</jats:p><jats:p>The main feature of the crystal structure are channels formed by combined PO<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>‐tetrahedra and FeO<jats:sub>6</jats:sub>‐octahedra along the [001] direction. Cs<jats:sup>+</jats:sup> is placed inside of the channels.
