In all cases, proton (or deuteron) transfer from H3+ (or D3+) to the hydrocarbons occurs, and leads to the formation of excited ions which may either be stabilized by collision or decompose in smaller fragments when energy requirements are satisfied. Several kinetic parameters are assessed. Reactivity data for some ions with hydrogen, deuterium, and hydrocarbons are also reported.
Proton Transfer from H3+ to Unsaturated Hydrocarbons and to Cyclopropane The Journal of Chemical Physics
